December

On my walks I was noticing the nice plaques people were displaying

especially these spoons nicely decorated to cheer you up during this Coronavirus time
and this one of colourful rocks

another group of spoons

I was fortunate to have a visit to Melbourne and a walk along the Yarra River

A view of the Tan Track, a popular place for people to walk and run to get their daily         exercise.   It is usually a busy place but when I was there it was quite deserted.
I also visited the Royal Botanical Gardens, a favourite place of mine
The water lilies were out in bloom and made a lovely display

                                              Signs of Christmas in Melbourne

The above is another sign of people thinking about others as we all have to do at this time.

                                                              That's all for now,

Winter time

The leaves are all gone and now the trunks of the Silver Birch Trees are fully visible

The sun catches their lovely silver colour

These Candlestick Banksia blooms make a lovely display in our garden and it is nice to see a bee visiting

Late one afternoon I saw these cockatoos taking a rest on an old gum tree. They are frequent visitors in our area.

A leaf,  a memory of  Autumn time.

That's all for now,

Towards the end of Autumn

Autumn is coming to a close and as the weather cools the trees show their lovely colours

At Autumn time the mornings can be quite cold but we are always rewarded with a lovely sunny day to enjoy

The Silver Birch trees always stand out with their silver trunks

On my walks I have seen lots of rainbows during this Covid19 time

I saw this car during one of my walks to brighten up the day

Below is the the Candlestick Banksia in our front garden.

Lastly below is one of the lovely sunrises we have been able to enjoy

I hope everyone keeps safe during this uncertain time.

That's all for now,

Last day of January

During January we have had some smoke filled skies due to the fires in the South East of Victoria

The sun was eerie looking and was a lot redder than these pictures

There also have been some dust storms of red dust

which accounts for the colour of the water across this pathway

We have had some lovely clear days for walking and caught up with these ducks on their travels

I always love seeing another wattle tree out in blossom

The Jacaranda trees always do well in the summer time.

That's all for now,

New Year's Day 2020

I took these two photos early this morning

they show the smoke still around from the fires still burning in the South East of Victoria.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year's Day. It is a somber New Year's Day in Australia due to the devastation of the fires including loss of life.

That's all for now,

Nessie
