A pleasant day in Melbourne
A couple of weeks ago I went to the City of Melbourne and walked around the garden areas.
The weather was a pleasant mid 20c day.
It was nice to see the fountain working. Not so long ago because of the bad drought none of the fountains were cascading water.
A couple of the lovely flowers in bloom
The grass was still very green from the rains we have had. It will not be long before they begin to yellow a little.
The Royal Botanical Gardens has many areas of different plants
a hut to rest a while
I wandered around the path surrounded by the tall bamboo.
There were lots of people also enjoying the gardens on such a lovely sunny day.
The trees were showing off their lovely blooms
It was a perfect day for enjoying a ride in the gondola
I eventually reached the Tea Rooms where I met up with my friends for a Christmas break up lunch.

A view of Government House from the Botanical Gardens.
I always enjoy my visits to the Royal Botanical Gardens, there is much more to see there.

Spring flowers
The above are only a few of the lovely spring flowers around my area. Spring is nearly finished and we are now heading into summer. I just hope it is not too hot and we get some good rainfalls.

Remembrance Day
Some of the poppies I knitted for the display at Federation Square, Melbourne Victoria. Well over 50,000 poppies were made as a Remembrance and Tribute Day by the community.

The quilt top at last!
I am happy that I have at last put this quilt top together. I started making the blocks many years ago. It is a Debbie Mumm pattern called Friendship Hearts. All the blocks have been stitched by hand. I machined stitched the sashing and borders. It was fun taking the photo as it was a windy day!

Last day of September
The above is a dilly bag I have just made.
One of the beautiful sunrises we have been enjoying in September. We have had lots of lovely sunny days with some rainy days. We did not get the expected rainfall we usually have in September. We really need lots more of the rain before summer comes so let's hope the October rainfall is better.

Signs of Spring
We have had some lovely sunny days and the spring blossoms are appearing now
although the tree in the background is taking time to lose its' autumn leaves.
There are lots of flowering bulbs
as well as the colourful wattle blossoms
It is nice to see the busy bees at work.
Spring is a lovely time of the year with the warm sunshine to enjoy before our hot summer begins.

Tea cosies galore!
Last week-end I visited the Tea cosy Exhibition and competition held at the Warratina Lavender Farm in Wandin.
I was not disappointed with the exhibition as there were so many tea cosies to see as well as the lovely back drop of quilts displayed.
There were lots of beanies too
as well as the beautiful crotcheted rug.
Below is a close up of some of the tea cosies.
The tea cosies were for sale, the proceeds going to help the Australian Cancer Council for research. I think it would have been difficult judging the tea cosies in the competition as they all were so special.
We also visited the lovely tea rooms at the Warratina Lavender Farm and enjoyed a great afternoon tea.
