Bow tie blocks

These are some bow tie blocks I have made as a contribution to the gift quilts my guild makes.  Really enjoyed making them and may be in the future I may make myself a bow tie quilt.

The last day of May

The above are some of the lovely autumn colours we have enjoyed.
This is one of our plants in our garden.  This iris always has lovely blooms and is quite hardy.

On one of my walks I saw these toadstools.  They have a pretty colour but are not for eating!

Down by the Yarra

A week and a half ago on the way back home from taking my mother to see her doctor I decided to stop off at Studley Park Boathouse in Fairfield for a hot drink. The restaurant was not open so we took advantage of the kiosk.

As we sat under the big umbrellas we could see people getting into the boats and going out rowing along the Yarra River.

As you can see it was a wet day but it was not cold (like this week) and in the low 20cs. The umbrellas kept us dry.

One lady rower even had the presence to take an umbrella in the row boat to keep herself dry!

Studley Park is lovely to visit. The trees were beginning to show off their autumn tones.

I did not have my camera with me so used the camera on my 'phone to take the pictures.

Happy Easter

This is the shop window of the Lindt Chocolate Shop in Collins Street Melbourne.

This is a little Easter bag I made. It is a Dawn Hayes design and is a freebie on her blog http://http://www.dawnhaydesigns.blogspot.com.au/

I wish everyone a Happy Easter enjoyed with family and friends.

In my garden

Taking a walk around my garden I noticed this geranium. They are such a hardy plant and give lots of colour.

This is the last of the belladonnas to flower. They always make a nice display.

This begonia has small flowers but is so pretty.

Another geranium. This one is pink and always has lots of flowers.

I noticed this spider web glistening in the sunshine.

I have been baking.....

I was looking through my CWA (Country Women's Association) Cook Books that I received for my birthday last year and came across the recipe for Ginger Creams. I decided to make some for the family, especially my mother who sometimes enjoys something to eat with her afternoon tea. The Ginger Creams are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside so they are easy for my mother to eat. They are sandwiched together with vanilla butter icing.

I do not think they are going to last that long!

We have been enjoying a lovely sunny Autumn day that Melbourne is well known for.

That's all for now.
