Happy New Year 2019

One of my favourite pastimes is walking

There is always so much to see

Although a common sight I do enjoy the cockatoos and seeing all the birds around our neighbourhood

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year

The end of Spring and the Royal Botanical Gardens

The above are a few of the lovely blooms we have enjoyed this last Spring

Recently I enjoyed a visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens

The gardens never disappoint me

There are always lots of flowers out in bloom and interesting plants to see.  The mature trees are magnificent.

During my walk I noticed Gardening Australia filming a segment for the TV show

A lovely sunny day to enjoy the surroundings.

This time of the year the Jacaranda trees are in full bloom adding lots of colour.

That's all for now,

Quilt Exhibition and this and that

Last weekend I attended the Australian Quilt Exhibition held at the Royal Exhibition Building

It is a lovely building surrounded by beautiful gardens

There were plenty of vendors as well as beautiful quilts to see and admire

Such a lot of talented people

This is one of the beautiful sunrises we have been enjoying of late

At last the autumn colours are beginning to show on the trees in our area and we have at last had some well needed rain!

These two black cockatoos were carved with a chain saw and painted black from the remains of a tree stump located close by to where I live

That's all for now

Christmas Time

Christmas is here again and there are lots of trees with their pretty decorations.

The Melbourne City Council always have nice flowering plants around this time of year.

The wool bombing has happened again and it is nice to see the craft work and beautiful crotchet.

This star decoration caught my attention when I was going through one of the arcades in Melbourne.

Another Christmas tree with its' gold baubles.

There are lots of banners hung to make it more festive at Christmas time.

A festive wreath I saw at our local shopping centre.

These large baubles are at the top end of Collins StreetThis part of Collins Street is also known as the Paris end of Collins Street.

Lastly, the new Nativity scene provided by my local Council.

I wish everyone a happy and peaceful Christmas

That's all for now,
